January Face

This month, I've been trying out a few new products from the drugstore. I always love a cheeky drugstore splurge since items are much more affordable, so I also tend to feel less guilty after.. But of course we all understand how it's like to get a little too caught up in that..

I always start my application with my good ol' trusty Benefit Porefessional. It fills up my pores and makes my skin feel soo smooth and clean, creating a perfect base for my foundation.

I've also recently rediscovered my YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation - I've almost forgotten how comfortable it is to wear on the skin..! This foundation feels so lightweight, and I would say it is a light to medium coverage foundation that does very well in covering most of my red spots and blemishes. It blends so well on the skin and gives a nice dewy finish. I would usually apply this with my Real Techniques buffing brush as I find that the beauty blender absorbs too much of the product into the sponge.

I've also been trying out the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Light for highlighting my under eyes. It does a pretty good job in making me look slightly more awake.. especially since I've only just gotten back to uni and am still trying to adjust my body clock from the regular late nights.. heh.

I've been a bit boring with my eye make up this month, but I've picked up the Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara to try out! It's been doing a very good job so far, with a good few coats my lashes look so dark and curly! It's so long lasting too and I even have a bit of a hard time removing them at night.

I've also gone back to some old favourites of mine for bronzer and powder. My Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Bronze gives a nice bit of colour to the face since the long winter has made me quite pale. The Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder never disappoints. It controls shine so well and makes my skin look pretty much flawless.

I've also recently discovered an amazing find that is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream. I've been wearing this for most of the month as it's just so comfortable to wear. It's neither a lipstick nor lip gloss but has the pigmentation of a lipstick and the smoothness of a lip gloss - it's like the best of both worlds! It looks satin-like when applied but dries out to a matte finish. It has quite a thick creamy consistency that is very easy to blend out on the lips, and you can build up the colour very easily as well. I can't believe I've only discovered this now - where have you been all my life???

I've been on a bit of a drugstore binge lately. What other drugstore products do you think I should try?

Love,
Kayleigh x
