Everyday Make Up Brushes

I admit that I'm a hoarder when it comes to brushes. But does anyone else find feeling these soft, silky bristles extremely therapeutic? ... I've always believed that having the right make up tools is just as important as having the right make up products on your skin. These brushes are ones that I absolutely cannot live without - they're of great quality and are very affordable compared to many brands in the market like Mac and Sigma.

5 Drugstore Pick-Me-Ups

January for me is usually the hardest month financially. It's when the greatest festive season is over and my pockets are empty from the Boxing Day and January sales. It can be quite a blues-y month, but a cheeky drugstore splurge always perks me up! Drugstore purchases are my favourite go-to for a pick me up since it doesn't leave me feeling too guilty and that I've burnt a hole in my pocket. So today I've included a few affordable beauty faves that you could pick up from the drugstore too!

Winter Skincare Favourites

Here in the UK, January is always the coldest month as it is right smack in the middle of winter. As someone with oily/combination skin, I find this season to be the hardest for my skin. I tend to wear more make up during winter (think more coverage, bold eyes and lips) so it's important for me to prepare my skin right before I smack on some make up in the morning, as well as ensuring that everything is thoroughly removed at the end of the day so that my skin is fresh and clean again. Here are some of my current skincare faves!

Best Nudes

Every girl needs a staple nude lipstick. For me, well... I have six. My make up is never complete without a good nude lipstick to finish up the look. It's always good to have a bit of colour on the lips as it helps to balance your skin tone and avoid looking too pale or tired, and the perfect shade of nude can give your skin a natural glow.

January Face

This month, I've been trying out a few new products from the drugstore. I always love a cheeky drugstore splurge since items are much more affordable, so I also tend to feel less guilty after.. But of course we all understand how it's like to get a little too caught up in that..

Everyone deserves a good pamper once in a while. For me, I like to indulge in a bubble bath because it's just so relaxing and therapeutic. I would soak in a good bath for hours if I could!

Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set

Last Christmas, Chris spoiled me with some very pretty and luxurious make up brushes. I've been wanting this for ages as I've heard so much about the Zoeva brushes and how they're so affordable for its superb quality.

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette

One brand that I have always been particularly fond of is Zoeva. If you guys didn't know, Zoeva is a German brand founded in 2008, hence still relatively new to the make up industry. Don't underestimate this brand though - while it is quite new, it is also very quickly winning over the hearts of many. I would say that their products are pretty affordable compared to brands like Nars, Benefit and Urban Decay to say a few. And not to mention its amazing quality!

My Holy Grail Products

As my love for all things beauty grew over time, I've also jumped onto the bandwagon of searching for my holy grail products. I've tried my best to limit the products down to just a few so it's not too overwhelming for you!

Trying this new blogging thing out.. Chris recently invested in a Canon EOS 70d (!!) and I've just been fumbling around with it for a good few days, and it just crossed my mind that starting up a wee little blog might be a good way to pass spare time. I've always been spending way too much time watching and reading about beauty things anyway and since I'm starting to build up my own little make up collection I just thought it'd be nice to share my guilty pleasure with others.. hee.

I created a nice little personal header for my blog too! Please don't mind me if it's looking too nooby for now - I'm still trying to figure my way round all this..

So here's just a sneak peek of my make up collection. I put it at my bedside table as it's kind of my girly little corner, and it goes so well with those fairy lights! I try to keep all my products in these muji drawers and they just make everything look so neat. :)) I used to put all my make up on display but after a while it just started to look quite messy, plus when products were nearing the end of their use, I always wanted to get rid of them so quickly because they just didn't look as pretty anymore.

So I would say muji acrylic drawers are the way to go - they're a bit of an investment but trust me when I say they're worth every penny! I got a 2 drawer at first and got myself another 3 drawer when I'd outgrown that one... The thicker drawers fit all my foundations perfectly and the thinner ones my palettes and lip products! You can get them online here.

I also have all my candles at my bedside because sometimes when I'm tucked in bed quite early I like to go on my laptop and have my fairy lights and candles lit by my side. They just make the room look and smile soo nice, and puts me in a good mood instantly. :)

Right, this seems like a fair bit of typing now so I'm going to end here. Thanks for reading y'alll. :))
