Everyday Make Up Brushes

I admit that I'm a hoarder when it comes to brushes. But does anyone else find feeling these soft, silky bristles extremely therapeutic? ... I've always believed that having the right make up tools is just as important as having the right make up products on your skin. These brushes are ones that I absolutely cannot live without - they're of great quality and are very affordable compared to many brands in the market like Mac and Sigma.

I love my Real Techniques Buffing Brush. I alternate between this and the Beauty Blender on a regular basis, depending on the type of finish I want. I don't know what it is about this particular foundation brush but it beats all the other ones out of the water and produces the smoothest, most flawless finish. The only down side to this brush is that it's only available as part of the Real Techniques Core Collection... Am I the only one who's begging for them to sell this individually?!

I use my Real Techniques Contour Brush (also part of the Core Collection) to set my under eyes - I know, I'm not using it for the right purpose - but it does the job anyway. I also like to use my Zoeva Contour Luxe Sheer Cheek Brush for contouring and the Real Techniques Blush Brush to apply a small amount of blush on the cheeks, just to give my face a bit of glow. On days when I'm lazy I just use the RT Blush Brush to apply a very generous amount of my Rimmel Sun Bronzer to look like a bronzer-and-blush in one.

As for eyeshadow brushes - ugh, nothing beats my Zoeva eyeshadow brushes! I honestly can't remember how I used to live without them... They're the perfect tools for blending my eyeshadow seamlessly. I usually like to use my Real Techniques Domed Shadow Brush to apply a simple all-over-lid colour, before using my Zoeva 227 Luxe Soft Definer Brush to blend a darker brown shade into my crease. So many people say that the Zoeva 227 works just as well as the MAC 217, but at a portion of its price! That's just such a steal!

What are some of your favourite everyday brushes?

    1. I totally agree with you! I have to admit that I've yet to splurge on any really high end brushes like Mac and Sigma though, but for a portion of its price, you're really getting such great quality brushes! :) xx

  4. To be honest I don't own any expensive makeup brushes.. the only set I actually have and use is Jessup brushes which I got on ebay! hahaha I have heard alot about the real technique brushes but a whole set costs so much and I'm just slowly using makeup a bit more so am kind of scared to splurge.

I do love my jessup brushes though! I bought a pink set a couple of months ago which is a set of 12 I think and they're really soft! I've heard good things about sigma brushes and zoeva! Was actually considering to get zoeva ones but everytime I look at them on their site they just seem to get more and more expensive! :(

    1. I get what you mean - I've only started investing in good brushes over the past 2 years or so, and the collection just got so huge so quickly! I've yet to try any Sigma brushes because they're still quite pricey to me. Zoeva's just slightly more affordable! I promise you they're of such good quality though and trust me they're worth every penny! :) xx

  7. We have such similar everyday brushes! I have all of these and love them all, I even use the contour brush to set my concealer too!!

I really hope they bring out the buffing brush as an individual as I really want to buy a new one as I've had mine for so long, but don't want the other four!

    1. Great minds think alike! ;) I totally agree - I feel like RT is doing it on so we end up spending more money on the whole brush set..! :S xx

    1. It took me a while to decide to invest on some quality brushes too, and my collection has only slowly accumulated over time so I guess it'll take some time for you to build yours up too :) I used solely RT brushes for a good year or two before I even had the heart to splurge on other brands! xx

  15. Oh my gosh I am begging for them to sell the buffing brush individually too - I bought the core collection a few years ago and the bristles started falling out of my buffing brush one time after a wash. It was hands down the best brush for getting a flawless finish; I find their expert face brush is a good alternative though!

    1. Oh no - I'm sorry to hear that :( It's so frustrating that they only have it as part of the core collection, so many people feel the same way about wanting to have their buffing brush sold individually.. Though I agree with you that the expert face brush is a good alternative! :) xx
